Smoothie Recipes

What is more fun to make than a smoothie? So many flavors, textures, colors, and hey, there’s really no such thing as a bad smoothie, right?

We'd like to share some of our favorites with you.

Our kids taught us long ago that smoothies are more to their liking than juice, so we have had quite a few machines live in our kitchen over the years. We have long had a powerful extracting juicer in our house (the Green Star) which is perfect for wheatgrass and all sorts of fruits and veggies. And we have burned out our share of low-end blenders so we added a Vita Mix a few years ago. It's a marvel, built like a tank, but it is seriously expensive.

We recently purchased a mid-priced Ninja blender which has a 450 watt motor with 6 vertically stacked blades to whip up creamy, fluffy smoothies. Plus, it comes with a wide array of containers. We have used it for all of these recipes. Everyone has their own tastes and preferences when it comes to texture, but we love that the Ninja allows us to produce such light and frothy smoothies. It does an amazing job at a fraction of the price of the Vita Mix.

We hope you like these as much as we do. Have fun!
