Black Beans should be cooked before eating as they are difficult for most people to digest raw. They make an attractive dark purple sprout which cooks up in an hour or so.

Black Beans are not one of the best sprouters around, so if not all of them sprout don't worry - they'll cook faster in any case and will taste great too!
