An absolutely beautiful, small, oblong maroon bean with a decidedly rich bean flavor.

Black Turtle Beans are difficult for most folks to digest when raw, so we advise that they should be cooked before eating. They make an attractive dark purple sprout which cooks up Much faster than a dry bean - in just an hour or so.

Your basic Chick-Pea makes a delicious nutty sprout - probably the tastiest of all Garbanzos. A great snack on its own or as an ingredient in numerous recipes (Sprout Hummus and several others). A very easy sprout to grow, resembles a miniature brain.

The coolest of all Chick Peas! These taste like other Garbanzos, but they have a black skin. black vegetables - and foods in general - are rare indeed. These are VERY difficult to find. We have gone years without them - more than once.

A really cool (if inconsistent) mix with lots of devotees. Great for raw hummus and many other sprout recipes! A terrific combo of tasty chick peas which is really cool looking.

Black Garbanzos & Orange Lentils

Halloween Treat was absent from our offerings for too many years, due to the lack of availability of one or both of its ingredients. We are pleased to have it back. It is a seasonally colored mix, perfect for the sprout lover - especially at one particular time of year.

Another in our beautiful, delicious and easy to grow line of Lentils, Crimson Lentils are smaller and plumper and of a darker orange than Red Chief. Exceptionally beautiful, Crimsons are our favorite Lentil Sprout to cook with.

The most beautiful of the Lentils - these are mottled blue with green and black highlights. As with all lentils these are completely delicious and very easy to grow.

These (usually Crimson) lentils have their thin skin removed to reveal their gorgeous bright orange color. These are rarely available as sprouting seeds as the machine that removes the skin usually ruins them for sprouting. Get 'em while you can - when we have 'em!

These have become extremely rare in recent years. We hope to get our hands on a steady supply, but as with other such unique seeds, that is easier said than done. We Sproutpeople are persistent though, so we'll keep searching.

The most consumed sprout on Earth, Mung Beans are generally grown in China and are used extensively in Asian cuisine. Perhaps the most exciting sprout to grow as it offers unique challenges. Mung Beans are probably the best sprout of all to cook with - especially if you like Chinese food. We have some truly great recipes for Mung Bean Sprouts.

These are tiny dark mottled Canadian Peas. We think these are the most beautiful of all of our Peas. Bill Jumps are VERY rare and quite a bit smaller than any other Pea we've ever seen.

Marrowfat Peas are a big (our biggest) Pea, light green in color, odd shaped (not round), and the most tender of all Sprouted Peas. They are used in the United Kingdom to make a dish called Mushy Peas which we think is actually quite good. We of course, prefer sprouting them. They are wonderful!

Very pretty and sweet. Small and smooth. We love having as many colors in our sprout palette as possible. This Pea is the best yellow of all. It actually goes a deeper yellow when sprouted. Most other seeds get more pale when sprouted.

If there was only one item you could get from us, Peasant Mix should be your choice. Well, it would be ours. Lentils offer everything: Lentils store forever, they are excellent nutritionally, they are easy to sprout, they taste great sprouted for 2 days or for 6 days (and all in between), they are great raw and cooked and the sprouts last for weeks and weeks in the fridge. Did we mention: Peasant Mix is BEAUTIFUL!

The inclusion of Peanuts is the main reason that more folks are addicted to this than to any other of our sprouts. The most popular use of this mix (and many other bean sprouts) is as a snack - the majority of our customers say they eat SF Mix like popcorn or mixed nuts - straight, but we have some great recipe ideas too. Our personal favorite is Spicy San Francisco Snack Mix. It Rocks - and has a nice kick too!
